The brief

Brighter, Cleaner, and Consistent Throughout

The project included approximately 2,200 livable square feet and extended beyond the main rooms to the doors, trim, baseboards, closets, laundry area, garage, and the stucco surrounding a newly installed courtyard gate.

Because the home included wood floors, exposed beams, distinctive fixtures, furnishings, and detailed architectural openings, preparation mattered as much as the final color.

Gilbert’s Painting protected the floors and nearby belongings, masked fixtures and fans, prepared the wall surfaces, and organized the work so each area could be completed carefully without treating the house like an empty production shell.

Color and finish

One Color, Finishes Matched to Each Surface

The interior palette was unified with Sherwin-Williams Extra White SW 7006. The lighter finish created a clean background that allowed the wood beams, dark hardware, flooring, and furnishings to stand out.

Instead of using one coating and sheen everywhere, the system was matched to the surface. Ceilings got Sherwin-Williams ProMar 400 Flat. Walls were finished in Duration Home Matte, which wipes clean without flashing. Doors, trim and baseboards, along with the closets and laundry surfaces, were coated in Emerald Urethane Trim and Door Semi-Gloss, built to take knocks and repeated cleaning.

The detail that carries it

Doors, Trim and Hardware

The doors and trim became one of the strongest finished details. Their smooth, bright appearance created a crisp contrast against the matte walls, while black levers and hinges gave the hallways and room openings a sharp, updated look.

Wide finished-room views show how the consistent color connected the kitchen, dining area, living spaces, bedrooms, and hallway without flattening the home’s character.

Repair work

The Garage, and a Drywall Repair That Had to Disappear

The garage received its own preparation and coating work. During the project, the team addressed localized drywall damage left by an older problem.

Loose material was removed, the affected area was prepared, floated, retextured, and repainted so the repair could blend into the surrounding finish. The garage walls and ceiling were refreshed, and the entry door received a more durable semi-gloss finish.

Repair work like this is part of most interior projects. It is covered in our interior house painting service, alongside the painting itself.

A texture repair only works if you cannot find it afterwards. Matching the surrounding texture is the slow part, and it is the part that decides whether the wall looks repaired or looks original.

Carrying it to the edge

A New Gate, and the Stucco Around It

The project also included a small but important exterior detail. After a new First Impressions gate was installed, Gilbert’s Painting completed the stucco tie-in on both sides of the opening and matched the surrounding exterior finish.

The finished gate area demonstrates the value of carrying the details through the final edge of the project instead of stopping with the interior walls.

Matching an existing exterior finish is its own skill. It is the same work we do on stucco repair across the Valley.

★★★★★

“We hired Gilberts Painting in Gilbert to paint the entire interior of our home. They did some dry wall repair, fixed a ton of settling cracks, painted the ceiling, trim, walls, and doors. My home feels like a new home. Everything was easy from scheduling an estimate, meeting with Grahm (who is incredibly nice and thurough), to having the house painted. They had our house done in less than a week. And we came back to a clean home. No paint dust. It was a great experience. We will be hiring them to paint the exterior next. I highly suggest Gilberts Painting!!”

“I recently hired Gilbert’s Painting for a complete interior paint job at my rental home in Chandler, and I couldn’t be happier with the results! From start to finish, the experience was outstanding. The team was incredibly professional and prompt. What impressed me most was how quickly they completed the work without cutting corners on quality. The attention to detail was excellent – thorough prep, clean lines, smooth finishes, and no drips.”

★★★★★

“Gilbert’s Painting is the best painting company in Arizona! They painted both the interior and exterior of our home, transforming our walls from a dated almond latte brown to bright, warm white. The crew was professional, reliable, and always showed up when they said they would. Their communication was excellent throughout the process, and the end results are beautiful—crisp lines, smooth finishes, and a fresh look inside and out.”

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What color was used on this project?

Sherwin-Williams Extra White SW 7006 throughout the interior. One color across the whole home is what creates the smooth transitions between rooms, and it lets the wood beams, dark hardware and flooring carry the contrast instead of the walls.

Why use different finishes if it is all one color?

Because a wall and a door do not take the same wear. Walls got a premium matte, ceilings a flat finish, and doors, trim, baseboards, closets and laundry surfaces a durable semi-gloss that can be wiped down. Same color, three sheens, each one picked for what that surface has to survive.

Do you have to move out while the work is done?

No. This home was furnished and lived in. We protected the wood floors and belongings, masked fixtures and fans, and worked area by area so the house stayed usable rather than being emptied out.

Do you repair drywall and texture as part of a repaint?

Yes. On this project we removed loose material in the garage, floated and retextured the damaged area, and repainted it so the repair blended into the surrounding wall. Repair is quoted with the painting, not bolted on afterwards.

Can you match existing exterior stucco and paint?

Yes. After the new courtyard gate went in, we completed the stucco tie-in on both sides of the opening and matched the finish already on the wall.

How long does an interior repaint of this size take?

It depends on the surfaces, the amount of repair, and how much of the home stays occupied. We put the schedule in the written proposal after the walk-through, so you know the sequence before anyone starts.

Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

Yes. Arizona Registrar of Contractors license ROC 266863, bonded and insured. We stand behind our workmanship and we come back to address a problem with our work.
