Painting a school is not like painting a typical commercial building. The work has to happen around students, staff, and tight academic calendars. Surfaces range from scuffed interior hallways to sun-baked stucco exteriors. And the crews walking those halls need to be trustworthy people, not just capable painters.
At Gilbert’s Arizona Painting Contractors, we have spent more than 25 years working with educational facilities across Arizona. We know how to get the job done without getting in the way, and we know how to schedule projects so that students and staff barely notice we were there.
Flexible Scheduling Built Around Your Academic Calendar

The biggest concern most school administrators and facilities managers have is disruption. We get it. That is why we build our entire project schedule around yours.
We regularly work after hours, on weekends, and during school breaks to make sure painting never interferes with the school day. We have completed projects during 21-day holiday breaks and have worked full weekend shifts, starting Friday evening and wrapping up by Monday morning, to meet tight timelines.
If your school needs interior work done over winter break or exterior repainting during the summer, we will build a schedule that fits.
What We Paint at Educational Facilities
Our crews handle the full range of surfaces found at K-12 schools, community colleges, and private campuses. That includes:
- Classrooms and hallways
- Gymnasiums and locker rooms
- Cafeterias and common areas
- Administrative offices and reception areas
- Building exteriors, including stucco and concrete
- Metal doors, door frames, and stair railings
- Fencing, security gates, and exterior metal surfaces
Surface Expertise for School Buildings

Arizona school buildings present a specific set of surface challenges. Stucco exteriors fade and crack under years of intense UV exposure and monsoon moisture. Interior walls in high-traffic areas like hallways and cafeterias take a beating from daily use. Metal surfaces on staircases, gates, and exterior railings rust and peel if not properly treated.
We are experienced with all of it. For metal surfaces, we use our electrostatic painting process, which applies paint using a magnetic charge so it wraps around railings and frames evenly and bonds significantly better than standard painting. The finish lasts 10 to 12 years and cures overnight, so your school can return to normal operations the next morning.
For exterior stucco, we follow the preparation and repair steps that Arizona’s climate demands, including filling cracks, power washing, and applying paint formulated specifically for high UV and heat exposure.
Professional Crews
Background checks used when required for restricted-access projects. Student safety is the highest priority, and we take that seriously.
Our painters are professional, courteous, and trained to work quietly and respectfully around occupied or recently vacated spaces. We clean up thoroughly at the end of every workday so that a school can function normally even during an active painting project.
